Q: What is Pure Heart Home Care Franchise (PHHC)?

A: PHHC specializes in assisting qualified individuals start their own business providing non-medical home care services to our elderly in our community.

Q: What is a Franchise?

A: A franchise is a legal arrangement between the owner of a trade name, the franchisor, who contracts with an individual or group (franchisee) to use the name on a non-exclusive basis to sell in our case services within a specific geographic territory. Business format franchises like the one that PHHC offers, provides home care services training and support. The franchisee generally pays an initial franchise fee upon signing a franchise agreement and purchases a territory. With PHHC, a territory is purchased, as well as the rights to our proven business model systems and extensive training and support.

Q: What is the UFDD, or “Disclosure Document”?

A: The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires sellers of franchises and other business opportunity ventures to provide prospective investors with the Uniform Franchise Disclosure Document (UFDD). The UFDD contains information needed to make an informed investment decision about the Franchise Business Opportunity. The FTC also requires that the information investors receive be complete and accurate and investors have adequate time to evaluate the disclosures before making any final purchase commitment. The UFDD includes important items of information, such as:

- Names, Addresses and Telephone numbers of other franchisees
- A fully audited financial statement of the seller
- The cost required for starting and maintaining the business
- The responsibilities you and the franchisor will share once you pruchase a franchise

Q: What is Companion Care?

A: Companion Care is Non-Medical Care provided by qualified individuals. Companions are Caregivers who assist the elderly and the disabled with their activities of daily living (ADLs), which includes supervision, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, transportation to and from doctor's appointments, and social interaction. Best of all, we provide this service where people are most comfortable - in their homes or anywhere of their choice.

Q: What is Personal Care?

A: Personal Care is could also be a Non-Medical Care provided by qualified individuals. Personal Caregivers assist the elderly and the disabled with their activities of daily living (ADLs), which includes supervision, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, transportation to and from doctor's appointments, and social interaction. It also includes assistance with ambulation, bathing, and dressing. Best of all, we provide this service where people are most comfortable - in their homes or anywhere of their choice.

Q: Are companion services sometimes also known as chore services covered by insurance providers?

A: Medicare and Medicaid do not provide coverage for companion care which makes billing fast and easy. You get paid privately by the client and never have to wait for insurance - or wait for them to reimburse you. In some instances long term care insurance will cover for non-medical home care which may be companion or personal care depending on the policy or coverage.

Q: Is this an expensive business to start? Can I use a home office?

A: A Companion or Personal Care Business requires minimal start up costs and is ideal to operate from the convenience of your home depending on your State requirement.

Q: Do I need a background in the healthcare industry to start my own Non-Medical Home Care business?

Q: What kind of licenses or certifications do Caregivers need?

A: Companions Caregivers require no formal training or certification in most States but Personal Care Services may require training and certification in most States.
